Fly by Night at Button Bay State Park

Fireflies, owls, bats, and more—not every species goes to sleep as the sun goes down! Join us on a night walk as we use all of our senses to learn about nocturnal animals. Meet at the Loop 2 Bathhouse. Ages 6 and up.

All events are free to State Park campers. Day use fees are $4 per adult or $2 per child. Any attendee below the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Dress tick-safe.

Ordovician Art at Button Bay State Park

500 million years ago, Vermont lay beneath the shallows of a tropical ocean. What did the creatures of those waters look like in life? We’ll be making art based on the fossils in our collection! Meet at the Nature Center.

Fossil Art at Button Bay State Park

500 million years ago, Vermont was covered by a tropical sea. Today, we can see the creatures of those waters preserved in the rocks at Button Bay. How can we capture what they might have looked like in life? Come to the Nature Center where we’ll be coloring, sketching, modeling, and making impressions of fossils from our collection!
All ages. Event free with camping or day-use pass ($4 per adult, $2 per child). Attendees under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
