Join our interpreter for a guided hike through the Atwood loop while exploring Woodford's flora and fauna. All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. Rain or shine!
Nature Craft Dwelling Workshop: Meet by the Cedars near the Boat Launch bathrooms build a small dwelling (also known as “Fairy Houses”) out of all natural, biodegradable materials in the Eastern White cedar forest nearby. Some of the tips & techniques could be used to build your own shelter in a pinch! Be sure to bring a camera to capture your creation before you leave it for its future occupants.
Marsh Brook Explorers: A hands on aquatic catch and release adventure in the Marsh brook near the Day Use area Stone fire pit by the Nature & Field trails entrance. Find, capture, safely observe, and release aquatic macro-invertebrates, crayfish, amphibians, and small brook fish to observe. Catch and observe as much variety as possible in a small aquarium until it is time to release them back to Marsh brook to let them continue to do what they do best in their park home.
