Job Opportunity: Bennington County Forester, Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation
Join a team of County Foresters from the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, who partner with landowners and consulting foresters, and a variety of other natural resource professionals, to promote sustainable forest management in Vermont. You will administer Vermont's Use Value Appraisal Program (UVA) for Bennington County while also assisting in other counties. This includes forest management plan reviews; onsite inspections; collaboration with the Vermont Department of Taxes; database management; among other duties related to the program. Outreach and education regarding sustainable natural resource management for landowners, schools, and community groups are an important component of this position, as is working with a team of other natural resource managers with the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.
