Plant Invaders at Jamaica State Park

Come learn about invasive plants through a variety of activities at Jamaica State Park!

 

Program is included with Camping registration or $5 state park entry fee.

All ages welcome, wheelchair accessible. A rain or shine event.

Leave No Trace Archaeology Hike at Little River State Park

Guided tour through some of Little River Settlement's lost settlement ruins, with emphasis on the Leave No Trace principles. Route chosen at start time based on ability. Meets at History Hike Parking Lot, at least 1hr/up to 2.5hrs. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an 18+ adult.

Owl Prowl & Twilight Ghost Hike at Little River State Park

Become "crepuscular" on an evening tour of Little River's lost settlement ruins. See how open farmland became a dense northern hardwoods forest teeming with life. Meet at History Hike Parking Lot, Duration: up to 2hrs/2.1miles r/t. **FLASHLIGHTS & STURDY FOOTWEAR REQUIRED; NO CROCKS or FLIP-FLOPS allowed!*

Art in the Park at Jamaica State Park

Spend the day capturing the beauty of Jamaica State Park through art!

Programs:

10 am Exploring Birdsong and Poetry at the West River Trailhead

 

12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Artist Meet Up/Art Supplies Swap

-Meet other local artists and swap art supplies

-Art Supply Swap Norms:

           Only bring supplies in good condition so that everyone can go home with something

            Inspiring!

            Only take as much as you brought.

             Examples of things to bring: Yarn, used paints, paint palettes, brushes, clay, collage materials etc.


 

3 pm Nature Collaging/Wood Cookie Painting

      Materials provided but limited
