General Description:
Plymsbury Wildlife Management Area is located in the towns of Shrewsbury and Plymouth and is surrounded by Coolidge State Forest. Public access to the WMA is from the Old Plymouth Road (TH #20) or the CCC Road in North Shrewsbury.
Unique Features:
The nearly 2000-acre WMA is located in a high mountain basin in the southern Green Mountains. The gentle terrain of the basin features wetlands, streams and forests of northern hardwoods and spruce and balsam fir. Two major streams within the WMA include Tinker Brook and Great Roaring Brook. There are numerous small feeder streams. The lands of the Coolidge West Management Unit connect other habitat for black bears between the north and south sections of the Green Mountain National Forest.
Recreation Overview:
Recreation within the WMA is dominated by dispersed fish and wildlife-based pursuits including hunting fishing and trapping. Sections of snowmobile and cross-country ski trail cross portions of the WMA as they continue on to Coolidge State Forest.
