Hike Description: Moderate, up and down hike geared towards families with young children. Road to the shelter: ¾ mile with 350 feet elevation gain. Trail to the top of the mountain: 1,500 feet with 100 feet of elevation gain. 1 hour+

Meeting Location: New Discovery State Park winter parking area, 4239 VT RT 232, Marshfield, VT 05658

Hike Description: Moderate hike up Big Deer Mountain from New Discovery winter parking area. Two miles round trip, mostly level hike with steep ascent in final 200 yards. Depending on conditions, snow shoes and/or traction aides, and hiking poles recommended.

Owl Prowl & Night Ghost Hike at New Discovery State Park

Become “crepuscular” on an evening tour of New Discovery's boreal forest & historical sites. Meets at Osmore Pond Pavilion. Distance: ~1.8 miles; Duration: up to 2hrs. ***FLASHLIGHTS & STURDY FOOTWEAR REQUIRED; NO CROCS/FLIP-FLOPS allowed!***

Sunset Aquadventure Paddle Tour at New Discovery State Park

Take a guided paddle tour of undeveloped Osmore Pond in search of wildlife, sublime views and carnivorous plants.   Reservations Required, day use fees apply. A limited number of park boats are available, bring your own boat if you have one. Meet at 6:30pm/Boats in the water at 7, program ends at dusk.
