Campfire Stories with Virginia Holiman and Kurt Valenta at Brighton State Park

Join Virginia and Kurt for a unique campfire program. Expect a confluence of traditional native storytelling and the exploration of nature's mysteries. Virginia and Kurt bring the stories' characters to reality through the natural artifacts that the audience can examine after each story. The presentation is a series of stories based on folklore, followed by a show-and-tell of the main character's physical attributes. Kurt shares his collection of pelts, skulls, tracks, and a myriad of other pieces that allow participants to feel a fur, or touch a sharp tooth, thereby underscoring the story's roots in reality.

Event free with park entry. Meets near Nature Center.
