Phragmites Treatment at Alburgh Dunes State Park

In May, The Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the treatment of phragmites at Alburgh Dunes State Park. Inventory work to identify areas of phragmites infestations was completed in March 2017 by Land Stewardship, Inc. The contract work will consist of creating a treatment plan and implementing said plan with the goal of eradicating phragmites in the park. The contract was awarded to Long View Forest, LLC. Treatment will occur the week of September 24th. The work is being funded by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation and The Nature Conservancy.
