Where: Little River State Park Camp Smith Trail parking lot, Waterbury, Vermont
What: Join Park Interpreter, Rachel, on a guided hike of historic Camp Smith in Little River State Park. This trailhead parking lot is on the left before you enter the park gates to Little River State Park. Explore the remains of Camp Smith, established in 1935, where nearly 3,000 members of FDR's "Greatest Generation" lived. In about 3 years, they built the largest earthen dam in New England, helping prevent future disasters. This is an easy 0.5 mile hike on a fully accessible trail, open to all. Girl Scouts are welcome to participate with their troops and/or friends and families. Participating Girl Scouts receive the 2024 Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch and the official Girl Scouts Love State Parks passport. Park entrance fees are waived for all participants
