Aquadventure! Paddle Tour at Little River State Park

Explore Waterbury Reservoir in search of wildlife & spectacular Vermont Views. See how the “CC” Boys built Waterbury Dam by hand.

 

  • PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED – SPACE IS LIMITED
  • For experienced swimmers and padlers only.
  • No additional fees for campers.
  • If using park gear, you MUST get life jackets & paddles at office by 10:30am
  • Activity starts at 11am sharp at A-Side Camper’s Beach. If you have your own boat(s), put in at the Boat Launch on the A-Side and paddle LEFT to starting point. Duration: up to 1.5hrs
  • Steady rain or thunder cancels event.

Guided Hike up Rattlesnake Cliff

Come along for a 3.5 mile hike ending in breathtaking views of Lake Dunmore and Silver Lake! Hike is rated difficult, features steep terrain and 1000 feet of elevation gain - a great work out! Takes 2 1/2- 3 hours to complete on average. Wear close-toed shoes and bug spray, bring plenty of water, and don’t forget your camera! Guided Hike up Mt. Moosalamoo!

Climb the mountain at the heart of the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area! An energetic, moderate hike through the Fall woods, about 5 miles out and back, for about 3 ½ hours.  Blaze orange clothing items are encouraged for hunting season safety. Chandler Ridge Ramble in Moosalamoo National Rec Area

Enjoy an easy to moderate hike along a wonderful Green Mountain ridgeline. Views to the west and east, with a picture perfect one of Silver Lake and Mt Moosalamoo. Start off on the Minnie Baker Trail, along Chandler Ridge, and then down on the Silver Lake Trail.  Six miles and about 4 hours in length.  Blaze orange clothing items are encouraged for hunting season safety. Children’s Story Hour at Silver Lake Picnic Area

Meet at the Silver Lake picnic area to enjoy a story hour on the shores of a peaceful mountain lake. The story hour is best suited for children age 5-10, but all ages are welcome. Email Jill at brooks.jill96@gmail.com to sign up.

Hike to Silver Lake in Moosalmoo National Rec Area

Come along for a 3 mile round trip hike to a beautiful lake in the mountains, and learn its history along the way. Hike is rated moderate, follows an old forest road and features 700 feet of elevation gain. On average it takes about 2.5 hours to complete. Hang out after the hike for a story hour geared towards children at the Silver Lake picnic area. Meet at Silver Lake trailhead and be sure to wear bug spray & close-toed shoes. Full Moon Cave Hike at Branbury State Park

Come along for a moonlit fall hike through the woods to Ethan Allen cave! Hike is 1.5  miles out and back, and rated easy to moderate depending on ability level. Hike includes uneven terrain and is steep at times, and takes about an hour to complete on average. Wear bug spray, close toed shoes, and a head lamp if you desire. Plein Air Watercolor Painting at Voter Brook Overlook

Meet at the Voter Brook Overlook to practice some plein air painting for all skill levels, while taking in a gorgeous vista! Watercolor paints, brushes, and paper will be provided along with an introduction to basic techniques for one hour. Email Jill at brooks.jill96@gmail.com to sign up.

Moosalamoo Campground to Voter Brook Overlook Hike

Join for a 1 mile hike ending in a gorgeous view of the Adirondack mountains! Hang out after the hike to join in a plein air watercolor workshop at the overlook. Hike is rated easy to moderate depending on ability level, includes uneven terrain and is steep at times. Meet at the Moosalamoo campground entrance to join. Wear close-toed shoes and bug spray.
