Think you have what it takes to make the best boat that floats? Come by the nature center and learn about what makes things float in water, and then create your own boat using materials found around the park!
Bring your own notebook, use one provided, or make one at the nature center and get started on your very own herbarium journal! Join in on collecting and identifying plants while learning how to preserve them and keep them in your notebooks to use for identifying the plants around you.
Join us for a weekend of whitewater fun at this semi-annual event where the Ball Mountain Dam gate is opened, and water is released into the West River, providing excellent whitewater paddling. State park staff will run a shuttle (fee) to the top of the West River where paddlers start their journey. If you're not into whitewater paddling, it's still very fun to watch.
