Robert Frost Interpretive Trail guided hike

This hike is a part of the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area guided hikes for September and October, provided by the naturalist at Branbury State Park (Charlie Slack)

Robert Frost Interpretive Trail - start time 11am

Meet at the Robert Frost parking area in Ripton to do a 1.2-mile (easy) guided hike along the interpretive trail. The hike features poetry and information on Robert Frost, and we will talk briefly on Frosts connection to Vermont and the poetry the state inspired. An optional poetry writing session will occur at the end of the hike; paper and pencils will be provided if you would like to write a short poem inspired by the works of Robert Frost or by the sites on our trail, but feel free to bring your own.

Words in the Woods: Geza Tatrallyay at Silver Lake

With now fifteen published books, Geza is a prolific author of five thrillers, three memoirs, five poetry collections, one short story collection and one children’s picture story book. He has a sixteenth book, another thriller, coming out in August, and has just finished a murder mystery based in Vermont that will be published later this year. His poems, short stories and essays have appeared in various journals throughout the USA and Canada.

CANCELLED - The Hero Benedict Arnold at Button Bay State Park

The following program has been cancelled due to a staff meeting. If interested, visit the Nature Center during its operating hours this week (Thursday 8/24 to Sunday 8/27, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) while another program is not occuring and ask the Nature Center staff for the Benedict Arnold program.

In 1776, “Commodore” Benedict Arnold lost Lake Champlain and saved the American Revolution—come learn how as we trace the short life of the first American Navy. One half-hour, meets at the Nature Center.

The New Wetlands of the Clayplain at Button Bay State Park

Inundated by a summer of rain, campsites throughout the park have transformed into temporary wetlands. Tour our worst-hit sites as we discover which species have taken advantage of these new ecosystems! 45 minutes, meets at the Loop Two Bathhouse.
