Come down to the beach on Sunday, July 14 at 7:30 PM to view the moon over Elmore. You’ll see:

• The man in the moon and the lady in the moon.

• Billion-year old seas of frozen lava.

• Craters large enough to swallow much of Vermont.

• And more…

Turn your flashlight off as you walk down to the beach to let your eyes adapt to the darkness. And bring a jacket – it gets cold after dark. Hope to see you then!

Explore Waterbury Reservoir in search of crepuscular wildlife and spectacular Vermont views. See how FDR’s “Forest Army” built Waterbury Dam by hand and saved the lower Winooski Valley.. *Registration required, space is limited, 1st come/1st served. *Meets at 6:30pm at Contact Station to check in and get life vests & paddles. 2hrs

Little River State Park is one of the best places to locate & identify birds by their songs.  Meet all 41 members of the Audubon plush bird doll team & see how parklands are managed for species diversity.  Meets at CCC Camp Smith Trail, Bring insect repellant.

Become crepuscular on an evening search for creatures of the dusk and visit 19th Century settlement ruins. New routes & stories available for returning ghost hikers. *Flashlights Req'd.* VT ghost stories provided; Meet at History Hike Lot; 2 hrs. Sturdy footwear & water REQUIRED!

Become familiar with poisonous, medicinal, edible and other Vermont plant species.  Nature Center, 1hr.

Learn knots, practice casting and see if you can catch what's swimming around in Waterbury Reservoir. Meets at A-Side Beach Parking Lot, 1hr.

Explore the world underneath the water in the Silver Lake wetland! We will take a close look at macroinvertebrates and the aquatic ecosystem health. Please wear clothes/shoes appropriate for wading in water. 

Come hike around Silver Lake State Park and ask questions about the wildlife, plants, and environmetal features that we pass!

Explore real life furs, skulls, and scat of the animals of Vermont! A great hands-on experience for all ages!
