General Description:

South Stream WMA is 103-acre parcel in the Town of Pownal, which is owned by the State of Vermont and managed by the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department. Access and parking is located at the end of South Stream Access Area road. A second access point is from the end of Funny Farm Road east of Maple Grove Road.

Unique Features:

South Stream pond is 24-acres in size with cattails and open water. The pond is dammed in the northwestern corner of the WMA. The majority of the WMA is emergent wetland and offers great opportunity for waterfowl viewing.

Recreation Overview:

South Stream WMA is open to regulated hunting, trapping, and fishing as well as hiking and wildlife viewing.
