The Vermont Logger Safety and Workers' Compensation Insurance Program, developed to modernize safety on logging operations and reduce workers' compensation insurance costs, is entering its third year!
For mechanized and non-mechanized logging contractors enrolling in the Vermont Logger Safety and Workers’ Compensation Insurance Program to be eligible for “safety certified” status with their insurance carrier (a 15% discount on workers’ compensation insurance), at least one person actively engaged in day-to-day operations, from each logging contractor’s organization, must take the “Forest Operations Supervisor" workshop. This workshop is primarily intended for employers and supervisors of employees on logging operations.
This is the only date this course is scheduled in 2021. Due to COVID-19 impacts to the forest economy, this workshop is being co-sponsored by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation and the Logger Education to Advance Professionalism (LEAP) Program and is being offered at reduced cost to participants through funding from a grant from the U.S. Forest Service, Eastern Region, State and Private Forestry.
